A new national fitness initiative is being launched on Friday 18th January at leisure centres throughout the UK. The new Everyone Active brand will be simultaneously launched across 17 local authorities to help encourage more people to lead active and healthy lifestyles during 2008.
As part of this national launch, local dignitaries around the UK joined in the activities to demonstrate the benefits of staying active and endorse the Everyone Active brand.
The centres are launching Everyone Active products and services to help local communities get fit and active in 2008. Neil King, commercial director for SLM comments, “It’s about finding an activity that you enjoy and not feeling pressured into doing something that you feel uncomfortable with. We are working with our local authority partners to launch this brand to the local communities to help take activity in the UK onto the next level.
It really is simple. You only need to do 30 minutes of activity five times a week to make a difference and this could be anything from walking to riding a bike to doing the gardening.”
Each of the 56 leisure centres involved is launching a new range of activity planners and services to help encourage members of the local community to enjoy activity.
