
Sports and Leisure Management Ltd (SLM) is celebrating after winning the ASA award for Facility Operator of the Year for the second year running at the recent Swimtastic Awards 2009. The judges at the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) recognized SLM for its proactive approach and quality delivery. The comments from the judges stated that, “SLM was formed in 1987 and operator/manage leisure centres on behalf of 20 local authorities across a total of 63 centres. They help to deliver value for money as well as increasing participation. SLM is a proactive organisation which is keen to ensure quality is at the heart of all they do. SLM has helped the ASA to develop a number of products and services and use the ASA Awards scheme across all its 50 pools.”
Not only did SLM achieve Facility Operator of the Year, they were also successful in three other categories. Samantha Griffiths who teaches in the Bristol area was awarded Top Teacher of the Year, Silver Award – Adrian Taylor, from Staines in Middlesex was awarded a Silver Award in the senior swimmer category and the Bell Family from Stratford received a Silver Award in the Swim 4 Life Family Swim category.
