On 20th August Grimsby Ice Skating rink was awarded the National Ice Skating Association Skate UK Approved Centre Award. This award was presented to Lisa Armitage and Jim Fell from Grimsby Leisure Centre and the Ice Coaches in recognition of the high level of 'Learn to Skate' courses that are offered here. We are only the fifth ice rink in the country to receive this highly acclaimed award (Blackpool, Bradford, Coventry and Altrincham being the other four).
Keith Horton, NISA's General Secretary came to Grimsby to present the award to us along with a plaque that will be displayed at the centre. This is a significant achievement for the ice rink at Grimsby and we are all delighted. In recognition of this we have included our approved logo in our ice pad so that anyone who skates here will be able to see our accreditation. Well done to everyone involved - this is a truly fantastic achievement.
