Sports and Leisure Management (SLM) Ltd, one of the UK’s leading leisure management contract companies, has just secured preferred partner status on a 10 year partnership agreement with East Herts Council to manage five leisure facilities.
The contract includes
- Fanshawe Pool, Ware - Swimming Pool/Fitness Suite
- Grange Paddocks Pool, Bishops Stortford - Swimming Pools/Fitness Suite/Outdoor Pitches
- Hartham Leisure Centre, Hertford - Swimming Pools/Fitness Suite/Outdoor Pitches/ Tennis Courts
- Leventhorpe Pool, Sawbridgeworth – Swimming Pool/Fitness Suite
- Ward Freeman Pool, Buntingford – Swimming Pool
The partnership will see improved provisions across all of the sites resulting in an increase in choice and range of activities, access to all sections of the community offering great value for money with more opportunities for everyone to participate in activity and make the most of their leisure time.
Linda Haysey, East Herts Council's Executive member for community development, leisure and culture, said: "We're looking forward to working with SLM so that our pools and gyms can offer excellent facilities for everyone living in East Herts. SLM's experience and knowledge in running similar facilities around the UK is good news for all our residents who enjoy leisure in East Herts.”

The council carried out an extensive evaluation procedure and SLM came out on top. We are sure that our Everyone Active brand will deliver better activity provisions in each of the leisure centres. We will be working at centre level to ensure that the whole community is given access to a wide range of activity opportunities for the whole family.”
SLM is committed to encouraging everyone to participate in 30 minutes of activity 5 times each week through its Everyone Active brand. The company has recently launched its new website that provides customers with downloads of activity planners, the ability to register for a free Everyone Active card and on-line booking services.
