The Lammas Leisure Centre has helped nurture and develop the first local club in Ashfield to a Gold Standard club accreditation. Sutton Sting is a local Ice Hockey Club who play out of the Lammas site. The gold standard is delivered through the Sports development unit and has strict criteria to meet before the accreditation is awarded. Through close working with Sutton Sting with regards to helping develop schedules of play and helping them build sustainable development opportunities for young people, they were awarded the gold standard. The team now offers opportunities from the age of 10 up to 18 years and has a following of over 100 children and youth.
