David Whiddon and Lloyd Figgins will undertake one of the toughest endurance rowing challenges on Earth - to row across the Atlantic Ocean in an independent and self-sufficient quest to set a new world record.
In December 2011 they will depart from Agadir, Morocco and row to English Harbour, Antigua - an epic journey of 3000 nautical miles.
The purpose of their challenge is to raise £24,000 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution who save lives at sea through their lifeboat stations and beach lifeguards. They will raise money and awareness of the RNLI’s Train One, Save Many crew training campaign.
Everyone Active is the primary sponsor for their challenge providing Fitness Memberships and Training programmes to help support such a great cause.

Based in Hamworthy Park, Poole, it has access to one of the quietest parts of Poole Harbour. Activities include kayaking, dinghy sailing or if you’re feeling more adventurous power boat handling. The Centre also has a brand new climbing wall available for hire and offers First Aid courses of all varieties. All courses are available for total beginners all the way through to those wanting to improve their skills.
We are offering Everyone Active Card Holders 20% discount on all 2011 course fees. Just complete an application and send us a photocopy of your card (showing card number/bar code) to claim your discount. The Centre offers unbeatable value for money and courses are very popular, so early booking is advised.
