October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please help Fareham Leisure Centre by supporting the PINK events being held through out the month. We are also holding a Five-a-side Football Tournament and Strongman Competition to support The Prostate Cancer Charity.

Palmerston Indoor Bowling Club (PIBC), Saturday 11th September
Would you like to try your hand at indoor bowling? There is a free Bowls open day at Palmerston Indoor Bowls Club on Saturday 11th September between 10:00 and 15:00. Total beginners, novices and experienced bowlers are all very welcome. The club can lend you bowls and bowling shoes if you do not have any. No special outfit is required just turn up in comfortable clothing and have a go. Coaches will be there to give guidance and assistance to players.

5 new Power plates have arrived at Fareham Leisure Centre adding variety and dimension to workouts. The Power Plate machine works by transferring vibrations to muscles, which naturally activates reflexive muscle contractions. Acceleration Training exercise is low impact and suitable for people of all ages, fitness levels and physical abilities.
Workshops are available on Monday 9am, 6.30pm, Tuesday 9.30am and Thursday 6.30pm these are half hour workshops learning new exercises and the benefits of the Power Plate.

Girls only programme partnership with local secondary schools. We target secondary schools in the borough and work with the ‘Girls only’ in dance. We aim to provide a show with the girls and display it to the parents of these children.
Activities include wet and dry side activities on designated days. For more information on these activities please see our timetables for group exercise and swimming pool.
Active at School programme targets age range 9-15 and at Fareham Leisure Centre we have partnership with Orchard Lea School, Uplands Primary School, we are looking to expand our programme and get primary and secondary schools on board with this. This is still a 6 week programme involving Circuits, Gymnastics, Boxercise, Boot camp, Dance and Fun & Games Session. After the course is complete we offer a range of activities including Active Kids session on a Saturday, Family Swim, guest passes for the gym, guest passes for group exercise classes and discounts on swimming lessons.
Streetwise Healthwise targets all the local schools within the borough to experience a healthy active lifestyle, we contribute by educating the children about the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle and the role nutrition has to be play for everyone’s health. We provide a circuit based exercise during this session an educate the children on why they are feeling the effects of raising their heart rates. This year the Streetwise Healthwise Week will be on the 18th-22nd May. They also take part in other group activities such as nutrition workshop, police awareness workshop etc.
