Indoor Facilities

Sports Hall

The large sports hall allows access to various sports protected from the elements and is ideal for clubs and individuals to hire.

Versatile in use, the hall can accommodate 4 badminton courts, 5-a-side football, hockey, volleyball, netball, basketball, table tennis and short tennis; as well as providing a large space for other activities. The main hall can be subdivided for separate games or activities making it ideal for schools and community groups.

The sports hall can also be hired for children's bouncy castle and soft play parties.

If you need equipment, don’t worry we also have a variety of equipment for hire. 


Group Exercise Studio

The air conditioned group exercise studio offers a variety of different classes which are suitable for all levels of fitness.

Customers are invited to work at their own level with low impact alternatives incorporated into most sessions.




Our air-conditioned gym an ideal environment to tone, lose weight, build strength and increase stamina. With equipment to cater for everyone regardless of ability or experience the gym is open to members and non-members following an induction.

The air conditioned gym includes the very latest in cardiovascular and resistance equipment designed to tone, shape and strengthen your body. We have a vast range of modern, easy to use Precor resistance equipment to work all muscle groups and great cardiovascular machines to improve your fitness.

A rack of dumbbells is available to improve control and range of movement with a matted area for floor work, stretches and balance and co-ordination exercises.

All users must complete an induction before able to use the gym equipment.


Shokk Youth Gym

This youth gym offers a fantastic environment for young people to take part in physical activity that is exciting, educational and safe.

Designed specifically for 8-15 year olds, the youth gym features unique cardio-vascular, resistance and interactive equipment including dance mats, a target wall, vew-do balance boards and much more.

Grass Football Pitches

We have two senior pitches and one junior pitch on site, which are available to hire for local football leagues.


All Weather Pitches - Sand Dressed

There is a full size, floodlit all weather pitch available for a variety of sports including football and hockey.

The pitch can also be subdivided into three separate pitches, which can be hired out on a casual or block booking basis.


All Weather Pitches - Rubber Crumb

There is a 60m x 40m floodlit area suitable for senior and junior football and rugby training.


Other Facilities

Conference Suite & Meeting Room

The centre has a large conference suite, equipped with computer terminals, and makes an ideal training venue or meeting room for up to 20 people.

There is one smaller meeting room, the Scott Suite, which is ideal for community groups and sports club meetings for up to 10 people.



The centre has two industrial sized washing machines and washer dryers allowing customers to wash while they work out.

The machines are also ideal for washing larger loads, including duvets and football strips.


Internet Access

The centre has four PC terminals situated in the Conference Suite, for public use when available.

FANS - Free Access for National Sportspeople scheme

What is FANS?

The Plymouth 'FANS' scheme (Free Access for National Sportspeople) aims to assist elite sportspeople to achieve their full potential by reducing the financial burden of training costs.
This scheme is an important sports development initiative, which aims to provide support and encouragement to the city's leading talented and elite sport performers.

Free access for Plymouth City Council registered Carers

Everyone Active is pleased to offer residents in receipt of a Plymouth City Council Carers Card access to the activities listed below for free at the Everyone Active sites listed.

   •   Plymouth Life Centre - Gym, badminton, squash, swimming, aquafit and bowls
   •   Tinside Lido -  Swimming
   •   Mount Wise - Swimming
   •   Plympton Swimming Pool - Swimming and aquafit
   •   Brickfields Sports Centre - Gym, Badminton and classes

Simply visit Plymouth Life Centre, Brickfields Sports centre or Plympton pool with your Plymouth City Council carers card and speak to one of our sales or reception team. Following a short registration process you will receive an Everyone Active user card which can be used to access the activities listed at no charge.

Your free access will be valid until the expiry of your registered carers card. When you renew your carers card following your access carers assessment you will need to bring  it to the centre along with your Everyone Active card so that your free access can be renewed.

If you have lost your carers card or you have not had your carer’s assessment reviewed, please call the adult social care team at Plymouth city council on 01752 668000.

Directions by Car

A FREE car park for centre users is available at the end of Madden Road on the right hand side. Please respect local residents and use.

From East Plymouth or City Centre:

Head towards Torpoint on the A374. At the end of Union Street continue straight on over two roundabouts and turn right into Madden Road by the pedestrian crossing.

From North Plymouth:

Follow the A386 to Milehoues (Plymouth Argyle FC), continue straight and follow signs to Torpoint. At the turning for the ferry continue straight on towards the city centre. Continue straight on at the next set of traffic lights and both mini roundabouts. Take the next left by the pedestrian crossing.

From West Plymouth:

Head for Torpoint, when at the turning for the ferry follow the directions above

From Torpoint:

Disembark the ferry and head up the hill. Turn right at the traffic lights and continue straight on at the next set of traffic light and both mini roundabouts. Take the next left into Madden road by the pedestrian crossing. 

Directions by Bus

Services 7A, 11, 11A, 12 (First Bus), 26, 34, 46, 46A (Citybus) stop at Cumberland Gardens at the end of Madden Road.

Services 45 (Citybus) and 80 (First Bus) stop at Fore Street at the end of Raglan Road.

Please note there is no Sunday service on routes 11, 11A, 12, 26, 45 and 80.

All services depart from Royal Parade stops A1 and A2.
