Fitness Suite and Studios

If you enjoy a good work out in a state of the art environment then why not try out our fitness centre at Hartham Leisure Centre. With 85 pieces of the latest equipment, Trixter bikes, a Reation Trainer, and a new fully air-conditioned group exercise studio this is a great way to boost your fitness levels. Our group exercise programme will introduce members to some of the leading classes in group exercise today including PowerPlate vibration trainers, Trixter XDream bikes, Body Attack, Body Pump, Body Balance and the NEW Zumba.

In the fitness suite we have results cards designed to offer you a different work out every time and you can also book our personal trainer to provide motivation and results driven exercise plans.

Swimming Pool

At Hartham Leisure Centre we have a fantastic newly refurbished 6 lane 33m main pool, which also incorporates a 25m swimming pool due to a moveable boom and another separate teaching pool.  We also offer ASA accredited ‘Swim School’ and Aqua Aerobics or Swim Fitness.

Outdoor Six Rink Bowls

For those requiring a more sedate form of activity we offer an outdoor bowls.  We have a Outdoor six rink Bowls facility with onsite toilet facilities. You can play casually by booking at the centre or purchase a season pass which last from April to September.

Male and Female Changing Facilities

The changing facilities at Hartham are newly built, state of the art and offer separate male and female changing rooms.  All of our changing rooms are also equipped with lockers, which require a refundable £1 to access.

Pavilion

Our separate meeting room is ideal for business meetings or focused work out sessions and is complete with it’s own changing facility.  Please ask at reception for further details.

Astroturf / Outdoor Pitches

We can offer our customers a variety of outdoor sports 7 days a week.  We have 4 individual tennis courts, 2 adult 11-a-side grass pitches and 1 junior 7-a-side grass pitch all within our outside area.  From budding professionals to enthusiastic amateurs we help cater for anyone wanting to be active.  We can also offer a variety of outdoor football facilities for both training sessions and matches.  Please ask at reception for further details.

Vending

We provide a variety of light snacks and refreshments for all guests at different vending machines throughout the building.

Clubs & Associations

Fancy Playing Bowls on Hartham Common

Make new friends and enjoy a very social activity! A great way to keep fit and active at any age, male or female.

Equipment and coaching available. We play friendly mathces at weekends. We also participate in local leagues, competitions and cups.

Hertford Swimming Club

Once your children have progressed through the Everyone Active Swimming Lesson Scheme, they can look to become apart of the successful Hertford Swimming Club.

Hertford Swimming Club is a medium-sized friendly competitive swimming club with about 150 swimmers from aged 6 years and up. We have a competitive men’s water polo team (over 16’s) and an adults’ swim session.

All our staff are ASA-qualified swimming teachers and coaches.

Hertford swimming club was awarded ‘Swim 21’ Accreditation at ‘Teaching’ level in 2006 and added ‘Skill Development’ level in 2007. Swim 21 accreditation includes the generic sports ‘Club Mark’ accreditation standard.

Swim 21 accreditation is awarded by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) when a Club has proved it is well run and provides good coaching in a happy and safe environment for all its swimmers.

Youngsters’ strokes and skills are developed progressively to competition level. Our swimmers compete in ‘friendly’ local galas, county leagues, county and regional championships, and ‘open meets’ of varying levels appropriate to their age and ability. Training time per week starts with a 30min session for the beginners to a maximum of 6 sessions a week totalling 11 hours for the senior squad.
