Cambridgeshire County Football Association

TAGB Tae Kwon-Do

Cambridgeshire County Football Association aims to establish safe and structured football opportunities for all. We also provide the appropriate structures and systems to enable the association to control, manage, regulate and promote the game within the County. This enables us to assist with the development of the game at all levels, ensuring we are able to increase the quality and quantity of participation across the various sections of participation.

The ‘FA Mars Just Play’ session at Cambourne Fitness and Sports Centre runs every Thursday from 8.30pm-9.30pm. Any adult can turn, up, pay £2 and play futsal, an exciting format of small sided football. Futsal is popular in counties such as Spain, Portugal and Brazil. The fast paced, indoor game is played with a smaller ball with reduced bounce. The game demands technique, movement and tactical awareness from players.

Cambridge United Youth & Community Trust – an introduction.

Soccer League UK

As the leading independent sporting body in our community Cambridge United believe it is important that the club uses its position within the local area in such a way that it exerts influence to encourage a more active and participative community.

To achieve this goal the Club was instrumental in the creation of a charitable vehicle capable of delivering this objective. The Cambridge United Youth and Community Trust, which was formally launched in August 2010, is the realisation of this desire within the Football Club to “give back” and its establishment will enable a closer and more attentive working relationship to be developed where there is need within our community.

The Trust holds charitable status (No. 1137275) and is a self funding, not for profit organisation. As a separate entity from the Club all funding and donations are committed to the continuing growth and development of the aims and objectives of the Trust.

Through its location and activity we believe the Cambridge United Youth & Community Trust is ideally placed to influence and deliver a unique blend of sporting, educational and life opportunities to the community. We believe this will have a significantly positive long term impact within our region.

The Trust actively engages with thousands of people from within our community on an annual basis. We achieve this by delivering opportunities for all, including children, the elderly, ethnic minorities, the disabled and those with special needs.

Our work evolves around three core principals - Sport and Recreation, Wellbeing and Learning. Everyone should be physically active, they should understand the value of diet and nutrition and they should have the opportunity to learn and develop at a pace consistent with their individual ability. Taking our three themes together, we believe that being active across all our areas can have a significant impact on the lifetime potential for each of our participants.

In our view an elite sports based contribution, when added to the good work that many parents, schools and other community groups perform, adds a sense of credibility to the message. The expansion of our work into the wider community enables us to ensure that far greater numbers have the opportunity to be exposed to the good practice we adopt within our highly successful Youth Development scheme.

The Youth & Community Trust is about ensuring that Cambridge United is not just seen as a Football Club where a few thousand people enjoy themselves every other week during the football season. What we are trying to achieve is that through the medium of football, Cambridge United is seen in our community 365 days a year, making a real impact on people’s lives.

Our vision is that through education and sport we can positively influence the lifetime potential of thousands of people in the local community, via our Charitable Trust.
