WHEELCHAIR LASER TAG TO HOST ANOTHER BIG CHARITY FUNDRAISER IN THE SOUTH
Wheelchair Laser Tag is proud to announce that they are holding another Charity Fundraiser here in the South. Together with Richard Hunt who has been preparing hard for his big challenge - "The Great Paddle Round 2014"
Richard intends to become the first above knee amputee to successfully circumnavigate the UK - a distance of approximately 2300 miles - using a Tootega expedition grade sit-on-top kayak. This will be a solo undertaking with the backup of a shore crew, although at certain points during the journey kayakers will be invited to join Richard by 'buying a leg', i.e. getting themselves sponsored, and thus become part of this extraordinary challenge. The journey is expected to take around 4 months, but this is of course dependent on the weather. However long it takes Richard is determined to succeed and complete the challenge.
The Wheelchair Laser Tag Event will have two objectives:
Provide Richard much needed funds to help him achieve this challenge
Raise the profile of the Charity for whom he is doing this challenge - BLESMA, a national charity that directly supports all of our Service men and women who have lost limbs and the use of limbs or the loss of eyesight in the honourable service of our country.
We are anticipating up to a maximum of 30 teams made up of 6 individuals, including teams from the Armed Forces, Local Businesses, Media and Celebrities.
With the assistance of Everyone Active at Fareham Leisure Centre, the date for this event is Saturday 18th January from 10am. The day will include not just the Wheelchair Laser Tag Event, but a host of other activities and stands, more details on those will follow in the next few weeks.
If you would like to enter a team for this Event contact: Richard on 07872921880 or Gary 07576012756
Or if you would like more information regarding Richard’s Kayaking Challenge visit his website
