WELCOME TO YOUR NEW WATERFIELD LEISURE CENTRE!
On 2nd July the pools and reception area at Waterfield Leisure Centre will close as the modernisation programme gets underway at the centre. This will be the start of a three month process during which the leisure centre will undergo substantial changes to provide a leisure centre that is more in keeping with what the local people of Melton want.
What’s NEW?
The new leisure centre now include:
- Spacious new family changing facilities
- Disabled friendly changing facilities
- Children’s activity room
- Multi-purpose room with a sprung floor
- Young adults gym.
There will also be improvements to the existing gym facilities, reception area and swimming pool area.

Fantastic New Gym Facilities
The new facility will is almost three times as big as the old gym and include the very latest in gym equipment which will be IFI accredited for customers with a disability.
We have had a specific area of the gym designed with younger users in mind to allow 11 – 16 year olds to work out alongside their parents. Once these younger users reach their 17th birthday they’d join the adult members that use the gym regularly. This area includes interactive dance mats and a sports wall as well as strength equipment that is specifically designed for 11 – 16 year olds who are not quite old enough to use our standard equipment.

Activity for Everyone & NEW Group Exercise programme
As well as the gym our new dry side activities include a multi-activity room complete with a sprung floor and air conditioning, and a multi-purpose room that can be used for anything from meetings to group classes.
So for the first time at Waterfield we have launched a new programme of group exercise classes including Zumba, Yoga, Body Combat, Body Pump and CXWorx. The full programme will begin with around 20 classes per week & if you take out a money-saving membership you can get unlimited access to all classes & book up to 7 days in advance. To save time you will be to book online for classes from October when the whole programme sets underway.
We are already in discussions with local groups, we hope to be able to bring a number of parent and baby/toddler focused activities to the centre once the modernisation work is complete.
The multi-activity room will also be available for children’s parties, meaning that we will be able to offer parents of Melton a fantastic new service to take the hassle out of kids birthday parties.
