Dancing is a great way for keep children active for all ages. It can help with children’s co-ordination, balance, confidence, social skills and much more. Here at Everyone Active we have classes in four different disciplines of dance Tap, Modern, Ballet and Jazz.
Tap dance is performed wearing shoes fitted with metal taps, characterized by rhythmical tapping of the toes and heels. The children love making lots of noisy stamping their feet.
Modern dance is a free expressive style of dancing that developed in the early 20th century as a reaction to classical ballet. In the young grades they will learn various stretching movements in a fun filled way and will progress through to more complex movements.
Ballet is a type of performance dance that originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has since become a widespread, highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology. Some children may have seen Angelina Ballerina try some moves.
Jazz dance was a big hit in the early 50's and it is still a well loved style of dance all over the world. Moves used in Jazz Dance include Jazz Hands, Kicks, Leaps, Sideways Shuffling, Rolled Shoulders, and Turned Knees.
Children participating in dance classes with Everyone Active will have the opportunity to work towards examinations, perform in Fete’s, events, competitions, festivals and annual Show’s.
Many of our Everyone Active sites have fantastic facilities with qualified teachers teaching dance lessons for children from the age of 3 through to 16 years of age in studios with mirrors and ballet Barres. Find a centre near you and book on today.
