Gymnastics consists of a several disciplines including men’s and women’s artistic, rhythmic, aerobic, trampoline, team gym, acrobatic, double mini trampolining, freestyle gymnastics, cheerleading and tumbling.
In artistic gymnastics, which is probably one of the most well known and commonly practiced, there are different disciplines for men and women with only the floor and vault being typical for both.
Trampolining was developed in the 1930’s as a training tool for gymnasts and astronauts and has since become a hugely popular sport in its own right. It is a competitive Olympic sport in which gymnasts perform acrobatics whilst rebounding on a trampoline.
Gymnasts can start at any age – as soon as they are able to walk they are ready to start gymnastics. There are several different disciplines
Gymnastics not only improves physical fitness, it also teaches hard work, perseverance and determination. The movement, variety of skills and participation opportunities, coupled with sense of accomplishment ensure the sport remains fun and exciting for all.
Everyone Active offers a range of different ways to engage with gymnastics and trampolining.
