Is it safe?
Yes. We use the revolutionary Edelrid smart belay system that prevents unintentional… disconnection while on the course, there will always be one belay attached to the course. This means the days of spending the whole time on the course worrying about potentially falling or triple checking your carabineers are long gone.
What if I am scared of heights?
Our course has been specifically designed to build your confidence on the elements as you go around the course. Our course may take you out of your comfort zone, and can be as easy or hard as you like with the different routes, however you are 100% safe at all times if you follow all safety instructions given at the start of your session.
What if I fall?
Because you are attached to our course by a smart belay safety system, if you do slip or fall off the course your harness will catch you, you can then find your footing and continue with the course.
How many children can one adult supervise?
One adult (aged over 18) can supervise children aged under 8 at any one time, providing each child is over 140cm tall. By supervise, we mean you must be up on the course with them or keeping a close eye on them them from the ground at all times, ensuring they use the safety equipment.
How long does a session last?
45mins. You may complete the course before the end of the session but we encourage you to go round again and have another go. The 45 minute session includes a safety briefing. It is really important that you arrive on time and don’t miss your safety briefing. If you do you will not be able to take part in the session or receive a refund however we will wherever possible try to fit you into another session.
What if I finish the course?
No problem. You can complete the course as many times as you like during your session. Please note no refunds will be made for participants who decide not to complete the course or only do part of the course.
How much does it cost?
For a full price list, please CLICK HERE alternatively you can contact us at the centre.
Is there somewhere I can store my belongings?
We have locker facilities where you can store all of your personal belongings. They cost £1 to hire for three hours.
Can I bring my camera or GoPro?
Yes you can. In fact, we recommend it. All we ask is that your camera is secured to your person by a lanyard or camera strap to prevent it falling from a height. We regret we cannot allow any participants on the course without this, and we cannot take any responsibility for any loss or damage to equipment taken on the course. Why not send us some of your pics of you monkeying around?
What do I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for climbing, such as track suit, long trousers, long sleeved top, suitable footwear such as walking boots/trainers. Please no ballet pumps, flip flops, heels, slip on shoes, skirts or dresses. Gloves are also a good idea.
What will happen when I arrive?
We ask all participants to arrive 5-10 minutes before their session start time, this is to sign in, kit up and be harnessed up ready for the start of the safety briefing at the start of your session time. We cannot accommodate for late arrivals, so please arrive in plenty of time. When you arrive, you will sign in at our High Ropes reception desk, complete your paperwork and meet your leader for the session. Please ensure you remove all jewellery, hair is tied back, and you have suitable clothing and footwear on. We will then kit you out with your harness and smart belay. At the session start time, we will take you over to the briefing area for a full safety brief and demonstration.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. All bookings can be made online by CLICKING HERE or you can contact us at the centre.
