Southwark Athletics Centre is the ideal place for you to brush up on your athletics skills. Whether you’re a casual runner, or a more serious athlete, we’ve got the facilities to help you improve. The six-lane, 400m running track is ideal for sprinters, middle-distance and long-distance runners alike to hone their skills and fitness levels, while the jumping pits are ideal for both triple-and long jumpers. The centre also boasts a shot put ring, meaning we cater for a range of different athletics disciplines.
All Southwark residents have access to free swim and gym sessions in council-owned centres at certain times during the week.

Our six-lane athletics track provides first-class running facilities in the centre of Southwark for people of all ages and abilities, no matter what your goals may be – whether it’s having fun or training for a marathon, while it’s easy to get to via public transport, too. (Please be aware that Tuesday and Thursday are club sessions whilst Saturday is available for public hire costing non-members £3 (adults) or £1.50 (concessions)).
London City Athletics Club are affiliated to England Athletics and based at Southwark Athletics Centre. The friendly, inclusive club offer opportunities for athletes of all abilities and have both a seniors and juniors section.
The London City Runner's club is the largest running club in London. It's free and open to anyone, regardless of whether you're an accomplished runner or a complete beginner, all are welcome to come and enjoy the endorphin rush that comes with running!
