Developments in Ashfield

Ashfield District Council and Everyone Active have signed a new multi-million pound, 10-year contract to provide leisure services across the area. The new contract includes provision for an all-new leisure centre in Kirkby, plus exciting developments at both Hucknall and Lammas.

The brand-new, £15.5m facility at Kirkby will feature an astonishing breadth of state-of-the facilities. These include two swimming pools, an adventure play area, climbing walls and much, much more.

Hucknall Gym

Hucknall and Lammas will both be undergoing exciting developments to ensure they continue to deliver exceptional activities for everyone. These include extension and refurbishment of both fitness suites, including new group exercise facilities, while Hucknall will also be enjoying an all-new teaching swimming pool. Furthermore, Lammas will be benefitting from the addition of an adventure play centre and exciting new TAG arena!

Accessibility and Community Engagement

All three centres will be enhanced with the addition of sensory equipment to the swimming pools, improving their accessibility for the whole community. Meanwhile, there will also be an online activity offer for all members and a substantial community programme.

Benefits for Ashfield Residents

As part of the new contract, it has also been agreed that concessionary rates for priority groups will continue, while apprenticeships, work placements and volunteering opportunities for Ashfield residents will also be available.

Green Technology

As part of the contract renewal, £440,000 will be invested in environmentally-friendly practices and technologies to reduce carbon emission across all three sites. This will help reduce each centre’s carbon footprint, as well as reducing running costs.
