Everyone Active – which operates Northolt Leisure Centre and Everyone Active Acton in partnership with Ealing Council – was named Facility Operator of the Year at the annual ASA Swimtastic Awards, which took place on Saturday 14 November in Leamington Spa.
This is the fifth time that Everyone Active has scooped the accolade. Areas assessed include the progress of children enrolled on swimming lessons at its facilities; the range of ASA products and services delivered and teacher training and development.
Everyone Active is one of the largest providers of swimming lessons in the UK and teaches over 125,000 children and adults to swim every week. There are currently over 3,600 customers enrolled on swimming lessons at Northolt Leisure Centre and Everyone Active Acton.
“We are thrilled to have won this prestigious award for the fifth time,” says Jacqui Tilman, Group Swim Development Manager at Everyone Active. “We are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all our communities and our swimming programme is a huge part of this. The ASA’s fourth annual School Swimming Census recently revealed that 48% of children between the ages of 7-11 in the UK are unable to swim 25 metres. We will strive to reduce this figure even more going forward by encouraging as many children – and adults – as possible to learn this important life skill and get active through swimming.”
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport, environment and leisure, said: “In Ealing, we want our leisure and sports facilities to be amongst the best in the country so it’s great to see that Everyone Active have been recognised by the ASA with this award. Swimming is a vital skill as well as being great for leisure and keeping fit, so I’d encourage residents to dive in and experience what our facilities have to offer.”
