Local community invited to get active at family open day

The local community are being encouraged to get active at the Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre family open day on Saturday 27 April.

The Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre, which is run by Everyone Active in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council, will be opening its doors from 10am – 4pm for a range of activities for the whole family.

Everyone Active took on the management of Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre on behalf of Dacorum Borough Council in April 2018. Since then, it has undertaken a large project to renovate the studios, changing rooms and gym, installing the latest fitness equipment. The group cycling studio has also been extended and refurbished as part of the works.

The family open day will offer the local community the chance to try out the state-of-the-art facilities while children can get enjoy trampolining sessions, face painting and Apex kids activities.

“We’re really pleased to be opening the doors to the centre so the local community can enjoy everything we have to offer.“We’ve had a great first year working in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council and we are proud of the changes we’ve made to the centre in that time. The family open day is the perfect way to mark the occasion and I hope the community enjoys the celebrations with us.”
