Everyone Active has launched its Our Men Can campaign, as part of its pledge to celebrate inspirational people in Mid Suffolk.
The company, which manages Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre and Stradbroke Swim and Fitness Centre in partnership with Mid Suffolk District Council, launched the campaign during Men’s Health Week on 15th June 2015.
The campaign invites people to nominate men, including any friends, family, or workmates of any age and ability, that has inspired them to take on a new active challenge.
Each nomination will be judged by the centre, with the winner receiving fantastic prizes. He will then also be entered into a national draw to win two Red Letter Days for him and a friend or family member, worth the value of £500.
Nominations can be made via each of the centre’s Facebook and Twitter pages, by summarising in 120 characters how their nomination has inspired them to be more active. *Terms and Conditions apply.
The competition follows on from the leisure operator’s similar Our Girl Can campaign, which was launched on International Women’s Day in March 2015, in support of Sports England’s This Girl Can campaign.
Kerry Barrett, from Harold Wood, was chosen as the overall winner for the Our Girl Can campaign and was presented with a prize of a £500 voucher towards a well-deserved a holiday, courtesy of Holiday Cottages. Kerry was nominated for the campaign by her physiotherapist Karen Schollhammer, for inspiring many by taking on a very personal physical challenge – a 100km run- and raising a lot of money for a charity close to her heart.
Anselm Gurney, Everyone Active’s Contract Manager for Mid Suffolk, said: “We’re very excited to be launching the Our Men Can campaign. Our Girl Can was a huge success in March and we had lots of fantastic nominations. The competition really brought to light just how many inspirational people there are in our local communities.
“We’ve celebrated the girls and now it’s the men’s turn – we’re encouraging everyone to get involved and help us celebrate all of the inspirational men in our lives!”
Nominations can be made between 15th June 2015 and 15th July 2015. The winner will be chosen by the centre and announced by 2015 before 31st July 2015.
