Anyone wanting to take part in an exciting sporting challenge is being urged to enter the Hemel Hempstead Triathlon which takes place on 30 September.
The event, which is in its third year, caters for people of all abilities with an impressive 150 people taking part in 2017. The triathlon will start with a 400m swim before moving into the cycling stage which can be done across either 8 or 16km and it is finished off with a 5km run.
The route starts and finishes at Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre with the swim taking place in the outdoor pool while the run and bike routes taking in roads around Boxmoor, Gadbridge and Chaulden.
Over the last three years, the Hemel Hempstead Triathlon has become a regular feature in the sporting calendar and it has seen local people change their way of life after taking part in the event.
“I have taken part in the Hemel Hempstead Triathlon since the first year and I love it. I took part in 2016 and I got the bug. I’ve kept the training up since my first triathlon, I am 25kg lighter and by the 30th September I will be fitter than any other time in my adult life. Anyone who really wants to get off the sofa and get fitter should sign up for Hemel Tri. Nobody will judge you if you have to walk during the run, or push your bike up the hill. Everyone gets a cheer whenever you finish and we all get a medal”
“The Hemel Tri has been a great success in previous years, with up to 60% of participants competing in their first Triathlon with us. The event always has a great atmosphere and will highlight our desire to get more people, more active, more often by providing the opportunity to try a well-oiled, local event at a very competitive price”
