Services provided at Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre are named as some of the country’s best

The exercise referral services provided at leisure facilities in Mid Suffolk have been named as some of the country’s best following a national industry assessment.

Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre and Stradbroke Swim and Fitness Centre have recently had their GP exercise referral scheme assessed by Quest – Sport England’s leading national quality scheme, and both schemes have been awarded the status of ‘excellent’.

Quest is the best-known improvement programme within the leisure industry and its rigorous assessments challenge even the very best leisure centres in the UK. The assessment looks at all aspects of performance, and the final Quest report praised the high level of coordination and effort that goes into the exercise referral schemes at both centres, and the brilliant outcomes seen at the leisure centres as a testament to this.

“We are delighted that both Mid Suffolk Leisure Centre and Stradbroke Swim and Fitness Centre have had their GP referral schemes awarded ‘excellent’ ratings by Quest. We try to ensure our centres remain a hub for the local community and a place where everyone can find fun and enjoyable ways of getting active. These results recognise the fantastic services we provide, as well as the work we do alongside the Council to improve the health and wellbeing of local people. They demonstrate that our GP referral schemes are being run to incredibly high-quality standards and are achieving great outcomes for the people who are referred onto them. I am immensely proud of the team for what we have achieved and the difference we are making to people’s lives on a daily basis.”

Anselm Gurney, contract manager at Everyone Active

The recognition by Quest by assessing them as offering an ‘excellent’ service, shows that they are providing a great service and producing fantastic results that help local people improve their health and assists in their recovery. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
