Adult Programme | Junior Programme | Coaches

At Westway Sports & Fitness we have a wealth of Strength & Conditioning expertise.  We run sports performance programmes in climbing, football and tennis and have premium sports facilities as well as a state-of-the-art gym, group fitness and cycling studios.

Our Strength & Conditioning programmes cover a range age groups and needs from giving junior athletes the physical conditioning they need to help maximise their potential to helping adults with nutrition advice, injury prevention and recovery.

Adult Programme

The Strength & Conditioning Foundation for Sports is for those who want to train more effectively to improve their physical skills and ability within their chosen sport or activity. The course takes you through a structured and balanced Strength & Conditioning programme and gives you the tools and understanding to be able to train and condition yourself.


The Foundation course covers:
Warm up – ranges of movement and agility for injury prevention and preparation
Conditioning – Resistance exercises to strength and condition
Core – Exercises to stabilize and strengthen
Mobility – Increase range of movement and function
Recovery – Strategies to aid recovery and adaption to training
Nutrition – simple guides to support your training and lifestyle
Includes programme notes and training sheets.


Mon 9.30 – 10.30am
Wed 7.30 – 8.30pm
Sun 9.30 – 10.30am

Adult taster sessions start the week of 24th September. Main course starts from 1st October.


£100 (or £75 if a fitness member) for 6 weeks. Book online or via the Everyone Active app.

Junior Programme

What is it?

There are critical periods in the life of a young person in which the effects of training can be maximised. Physical Skills 4 Sport is a training programme for developing strength, power, stamina, agility, speed and mobility.

Who is it for?

The programme is for two age groups 9 -12yrs and 13-16+ yrs. Tennis players, footballers, climbers and swimmers who would like a physical training programme and are in performance groups at Westway Sports & Fitness.

When does it start and what does it cost?

The first term runs for 13 weeks from 10 September – 12 December. There are 2 sessions per week:

4.30 – 5.30pm (9–12 yrs old)
5.30 – 6.30pm (13–16+ yrs old)

4 – 5pm (9–12 yrs old)
5 – 6pm (13–16+ yrs old)

Cost: £10.50 per session = £136.50 for one session per week or £273 for two sessions.

Where is it and who is coaching it?

Sessions are in the Group Fitness Studio at Westway Sports & Fitness Centre. Mark Sheppard (Head of Strength & Conditioning) will run the sessions with the support of Level 1 S&C coaches for groups over 10 in number.
