The brand new sports and leisure centre, which has been developed by a partnership of Bromsgrove District Council and construction and infrastructure company, Morgan Sindall, will form part of the over £100m regeneration project to build a Better Bromsgrove. That initiative is revitalising Bromsgrove to create an attractive and vibrant centre at the heart of a thriving market town.

Everyone Active took over the management of the Dolphin Centre on 1st September, after agreeing a 21-year contract with Bromsgrove District Council to deliver leisure services across the town.

“We are really excited to officially unveil this fantastic facility. This is a centre that we and Bromsgrove District Council are extremely proud of. The open day will be a great opportunity for local people to try out the extensive range of facilities that are now offer for everyone in the community all under one roof. We are passionate about encouraging everyone in the community, regardless of age or ability, to take part in 30 minutes of physical activity, five times a week. I would urge anyone who is looking to improve their health and wellbeing to speak with colleagues about how we can support them on their fitness journey.”

Neil Cowdrey, Contract Manager

“I am delighted this project has come to fruition and the centre is opening its doors. The Council had a vision for this Sports and Leisure Centre four years ago when we had to replace the Dolphin Centre which had reached its life span. And thanks to extra funding from Sports England, we were able to enhance the facilities at the venue for our residents, including the exciting new climbing wall. I hope everyone takes a look for themselves next weekend and enjoys this new jewel in Bromsgrove’s crown.”

Cllr Peter Whittaker

“Meaningful regeneration requires a holistic and considered approach. Modern leisure facilities, which provide safe and enjoyable environments in which to exercise, have a key role to play in creating healthier, happier communities. We have worked closely with the Council to deliver this landmark project, and we’re confident that the people of Bromsgrove and the surrounding area will enjoy the centre for years to come.”
