About this Centre
Here at Abbey Leisure centre, we’re conveniently located right in the heart of Barking and offer a fantastic variety of activities and facilities for you to enjoy. We've got two swimming pools in which our award-winning swimming lessons - as well as myriad other swim sessions - are held, while our 140-station unisex - as well as our women-only - gyms have all the equipment you could need to help you reach your fitness goals. Meanwhile, we also have two group exercise studios that play host to a huge range of sessions designed to meet all needs. On site, we also have a spa, which is the perfect place to get away from it all.
We have a range of membership options to suit everyone's needs, from adult gym-only memberships, allowing unlimited access to our fantastic gym, through to access-all-areas adult gym, fitness class and swim memberships. This gives unlimited access to the gym, as well as the swimming pool and our wide range of fitness classes.
This centre has implemented a cashless system. This has significantly reduced queuing times and improved customer service.

Our large 140-station gym features all the latest Technogym equipment, including cardio, resistance and free weights.
Group Exercise Studio
We have two group exercise studios that play host to a variety of different classes. We also offer a group cycling studio where both our live and virtual cycling classes take place. Whatever your fitness goals may be, you’re sure to find the right class for you, while the social nature of the sessions means you can meet new people too.
Swimming Pool
We’ve got two pools for you to enjoy – a 25m main pool and a smaller teaching pool too. It’s in these that we host all our aquatic activities, which include our award-winning swimming lessons, among many others.
Spa
Abbey Spa is the perfect place to get away from it all, with its wide range of spa facilities and variety of treatments available, you’re sure to relax here with us.
Women-Only Gym
Our women-only packed full of all the very latest fitness equipment to provide a fantastic environment for women of all fitness abilities to enjoy and carry on their fitness journeys.

If you are not ready for a membership, or do not use our centre on a regular basis then a “pay as you go” access may be better for you.
