Fitness suites at five leisure centres on Teesside are set to undergo a £1.1million refurbishment!
Gym Improvements
The gyms within Middlesbrough Sports Village, Neptune Centre, Rainbow Leisure Centre and Eston Leisure Centre are being expanded to more than 150 stations, with a host of new cardio and resistance equipment provided by Life Fitness being installed. There will also be a new look and feel, which includes new flooring and decoration.
Other standout improvements include:
- Extension of the plate-loaded weights areas at Middlesbrough Sports Village and Rainbow Leisure Centre
- Addition of a new rig at Neptune Centre
- Extension of the Eston Leisure Centre gym into the former group cycling studio, with a recovery area added
Meanwhile, the existing fitness suite at Guisborough Swim and Fitness Centre will benefit from a raft of updated equipment.
To allow upgrade works to take place, brief closure periods will be implemented. Due to the number and the extent of the refurbishments they have been staggered, with customers encouraged to use other Everyone Active gyms in the area while their own is closed.

• Rainb…ow Leisure Centre: Closed from Monday, September 25 – reopens Saturday, October 14
• Neptune Centre: Closed from Monday, October 9 – reopens Saturday, October 28
• Middlesbrough Sports Village: Closed from Monday, October 23 – reopens Saturday, November 11
• Guisborough Swim and Fitness Centre: Closed from Monday, October 23 –reopens Saturday, October 28
