What You Can Expect | Works Timeline
We are delighted to announce that Northcroft Leisure Centre in Newbury is set for a major transformation as a result of a £4.6million investment from West Berkshire Council. This exciting refurbishment will see Northcroft Leisure Centre evolve into a state-of-the-art facility, ensuring it remains a fantastic hub for the community for many years to come.
Free Open Day
To celebrate these fantastic upgrades, we’re hosting a free open day on Saturday, 5th July! Come along and enjoy complimentary access to the newly improved centre and take part in a range of free activities perfect for the whole family, including a bouncy castle, pickleball, badminton, soft play, and table tennis.

What You Can Expect
- A larger 80 station gym with top-of-the-range equipment – NOW OPEN
- A new dedicated cycle studio – NOW OPEN

Works Timeline
Refurbishment work began in September 2024 and is on track for completion in June 2025. We completed the project in stages, with the gym being the first facility to reopen.
Phase 2 of the development started on Thursday, 2nd January. During this time, we made several adjustments to minimise disruption, including temporary entrance and group exercise programme changes. These disruptions have now ended, and almost all facilities are open to the public. We anticipate the main studio will open on Monday 30th June and the brand-new soft play area will be ready around mid-June.
