Brand new soft play opens at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre

A vibrant new soft play facility was officially opened at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre on Saturday 17 May, marking a major milestone in the ongoing investment in local leisure provision.

More than 300 visitors from across the District turned out to enjoy the free launch day sessions, with the new three-storey play structure proving a big hit among younger visitors.

The facility, which replaces the centre’s former café space, is designed for children up to the age of 12 and offers a countryside-themed environment inspired by nearby Knole Park.

Key features include a large slide, ball pit, rock wall and enclosed tube – all aimed at encouraging fun, movement and creativity.

The project follows the start of Everyone Active’s new five-year contract with Sevenoaks District Council to manage Sevenoaks Leisure Centre, Edenbridge Leisure Centre and Lullingstone Park Golf Course, which began on 1 May 2025.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday was attended by Cllr Lesley Dyball, the Council’s Cabinet Member for People and Places, and Cllr Lynda Harrison, Chair of the Council, who both praised the new facility and its positive impact on local families.

Cllr Dyball said: “The new, three-storey soft play is another great reason to visit Sevenoaks Leisure Centre. I’m confident it will be welcomed by parents and young children and is part of our ongoing commitment to invest in our leisure facilities across the District.”

Hasan Romel, Area Contract Manager at Everyone Active, added: “We’re thrilled to have officially opened the new soft play area – it’s a vibrant and engaging space that brings something completely new to the centre. The positive feedback from families has been fantastic, and we’re proud to deliver a facility that supports health, wellbeing and active play for children in the local community.”

The soft play is open seven days a week from 9am to 8.30pm, with one-hour sessions bookable via the Everyone Active website, app or at the centre.

Entry is £7 per child, with the facility not included in existing membership packages.

This launch is one of several improvements planned across the district as Everyone Active continues to enhance leisure services in partnership with Sevenoaks District Council.
