Sunday 12th May 2019, Race Starts at 09:00am
This popular half marathon returns on May 12th 2019 and takes runners through the heart of Bracknell. Starting and finishing at The Lexicon, the event is now in its 35th year. It is suitable for experienced runners and novices alike and all finishers receive a fantastic medal and commemorative t-shirt.
Date – Sunday May 12th 2019
Time – The Lexicon Bracknell Half Marathon will start at 09.00am prompt
Venue – The race village will be in Bond Square, Bond Way, The Lexicon, Bracknell, RG12 1RQ (adjacent to Waitrose). The village will contain the information desk and the baggage drop off / collection point. The start will be adjacent to the race village. The finish will be in Union Square (at the crossroads of The High Street and Braccan Walk, The Lexicon, Bracknell).
Parking for race participants – all race entrants will be entitled to free parking in The High Street car park, The Ring, Bracknell, RG12 1LP. Please show either your official race number or proof of entry on arrival between 07:15-08:45 at the car park entrance. There will be no time limit for your stay so please feel free to avail yourselves of all the facilities within The Lexicon after your run. The High Street car park is a short distance (approx. 200m) away from the race village / start area. IF YOU USE ANY OTHER TOWN CENTRE CAR PARK YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THE RELEVANT FEE.
Parking for friends/family/spectators – there are a number of town centre car parks, each of which is situated close to the start/finish area within The Lexicon. These include The Avenue, Princess Square and Braccan Walk car parks. Please note that all car parks charge parking fees.
Public Transport – Bracknell railway station and bus depot are both short (300m) walks away from the start area.
Toilets – are located on the ground floor of the Avenue car park, The Avenue, The Lexicon, RG12 1AP. These are a short (100m) walk from the race village area.
Course – The race will start and finish in The Lexicon. The runners will leave and re-enter the town centre via London Road. On the way out the runners will pick up an anti-clockwise loop of Bracknell at the Running Horse Roundabout. On reaching the Running Horse Roundabout for the second time, the runners will return to the town centre the same way that they came out before finishing in the heart of The Lexicon.
Entries – Entries will remain open until Wednesday 8th May, unless the entry limit is reached before that.
Wheelchairs – Due to the nature of the course, the organisers regret that wheelchair entries are not accepted for this event.
Event T-shirts – ALL finishers will receive a commemorative event t-shirt when they cross the finish line.
Medals – all participants completing the course will receive a commemorative medal.
Prizes – There will be prizes for the first three finishers in the Mens Open, Ladies Open, Mens Veteran and Ladies Veteran Categories. There will also be prizes for the first finishers in the Mens Veteran 50+, Mens Veteran 60+, Ladies Veteran 45+ and Ladies 55+ Categories.
Runners Packs – Runners packs will be posted approximately 7 – 10 days before the event. Please allow a few days for your pack to arrive before contacting the office. Runners entering the race after 2nd May will need to collect their runners packs from the race village on the morning of the race.
The Lexicon – runners, their families and other supporters are welcome to take the opportunity to check out the many shops, cafes, restaurants and other facilities within the town centre. Lexicon store guide & map.
General Terms & Conditions
All participants must have reached their 17th birthday on or before the day of the race.
Entry fees are non refundable except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Organisers.
Runners unable to take part on the day MUST NOT pass their numbers to someone else.
