Redcar Kite Festival – Terms & Conditions
Competition Terms and Conditions
- Competition is open to GB residents aged 4 – 11 years only. Parent/Guardian permission is required before entering.
- The Promotional Period will open at 17.00 on Friday 09 May 2025 and close at 17.00 Sunday 25 May 2025. Any entries received outside of the Promotional Period will not be accepted.
- Maximum 1 entry per person. Maximum 1 prize per person.
- No purchase necessary.
HOW TO ENTER
- To enter the competition, draw a picture onto the kite template of your favourite sea creature that you would love to see printed onto your own kite. Please ensure that the drawing is simple, big and bold, using colours that will stand out well in the sky.
- Only one entry per person. Only one prize per person.
- Please use the template provided at everyoneactive.com/kitefestival or available from your local participating Everyone Active centre (see clause 9) to complete your drawing and fill in the relevant personal details.
- Hand your completed entry in at your local participating Everyone Active centre (see clause 9) during the Promotional Period. Along with your entry, please ask your parent/guardian to complete your full name, age and school details as well providing their own name, email address and contact number.
- Participating centres: Neptune Centre, Middlesbrough Sports Village, Eston Leisure Centre, Rainbow Leisure Centre, Redcar Leisure Centre, Guisborough Swim and Fitness Centre, Saltburn Leisure Centre and Loftus Leisure centre.
WINNER SELECTION
- Entries will be judged by an independent person and the drawing that is judged to be the one that best meets the brief and will look bold and bright when flying in the sky will win the main prize. The two next best drawings will win the two runners up prizes.
- Entries will be judged on the following criteria and with the associated weighting:
- Meeting the overall brief – 34%
- Creativity – 33%
- Using bold colours in an impactful way – 33%
- All entries received before the closing date of the Promotional Period will be judged on the above criteria within 5 working days of the end of the Promotional Period.
PRIZES
- The Main Prize Winner will win:
- Their design printed on to a standard diamond shaped white kite.
- A family membership for 2 adults (18+) and 2 children for 6 consecutive months at their local participating Everyone Active centre.
- Tickets for 2 adults (18+) and 2 children to visit any Middlesbrough FC home game with a Match Day experience during the 2025/26 season. The Match Day experience includes: a meet and greet with a MFC colleague at the Players Entrance, a tour of the ground, a goody bag, match viewing from the Everyone Active family stand and an opportunity to flag wave on the side of the pitch prior to teams coming out to play.
- Two Runners Up will each receive:
- A family membership for 2 adults (18+) and 2 children for 3 consecutive months at their local participating Everyone Active centre
- Tickets for 2 adults (18+) and 2 children to visit any Middlesbrough FC home game with a Match Day experience during the 2025/26 season. The Match Day experience includes: a meet and greet with a MFC colleague at the Players Entrance, a tour of the ground, a goody bag, match viewing from the Everyone Active family stand and an opportunity to flag wave on the side of the pitch prior to teams coming out to play.
- For the family membership, winners will need to provide their full name, address and phone number to obtain a membership card for accessing their local Everyone Active centre.
- The membership will expire at the end of the 6-month period for the Main Prize Winner and the 3-month period for the Runners Up. These memberships will not automatically renew and no bank details are required.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
- The parents/guardians of the Main Prize Winner and the Runners Up will be contacted by phone and email within 7 days of the winners being drawn and the winners will be offered the opportunity to come and pick up their prizes from the stage at the Redcar Kite Festival on Saturday 14 June 2025. Winners will be asked to provide photo ID in order to claim their prize on the day.
- If the Main Prize Winner or one/both of the Runners Up cannot attend the Redcar Kite Festival, their prize will be made available to collect from their local Everyone Active centre within 28 days of the Redcar Kite Festival.
SCHOOL COMPETITION
- Each school that has 30 or more pupils with a valid entry during the Promotional Period will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win one of the following prizes:
- Access to Middlesbrough Sports Village on one day (selected dates in 2025 or 2026) to run your school sports day.
- A Full Day event with Boro 3v3 UK, including 2 inflatable air pitches at your school on a date of your choice. There will be 5 sessions during the day with up to 25 children in each session.
- A flow rider session at Redcar Leisure Centre on a date of your choice (from 16 June 25 onward subject to availability) for up to 30 pupils
- All schools with 30 or more eligible entries from pupils will be entered into the prize draw and winners will be selected via a randomised computer process within 7 days of the close of the Promotional Period.
- The 3 winning schools will be contacted by the Promoter within 10 days of the prize draw via telephone]. They will be required to provide clear acceptance of their prize verbally on the telephone within 14 days of initial contact in order to claim their prize.
- In the event that they do not respond in time, reject their prize or are ineligible, another winner will be selected using the same methodology as above. The process will repeat twice, at which point the unclaimed prize will be declared null and void.
- Upon valid prize claim, the Promoter will liaise with the winning schools to organise the sports day, full day Boro 3v3 UK event and flow rider session at Redcar Leisure Centre.
GENERAL
- As its author, you own the copyright of the design for the winning kite.
- Entries will be deemed invalid if any post:
– Contains defamatory, malicious, indecent or other inappropriate content;
– In the reasonable opinion of the Promoter, cause any widespread or serious offence (taking into account prevailing community views or standards);
– Contains any content that is offensive or could reflect negatively on the name, reputation, or goodwill of the Promoter or any brand partner;
– Defames, misrepresents, or contains content for the intended purpose of harassing, threatening or embarrassing individuals or multiple individuals or insults other people or companies, including, but not limited to the Promoter (including its partners);
– Promotes any political, blasphemous or religious agenda or any content deemed to incite religious or racial hatred;
– Contains images of third parties who have not expressly consented to feature in promotion;
- Everyone Active requires the approval of a parent or guardian for you to enter the competition and to publish your first name and school details on the posters if they are displayed in centre at any point.
- No responsibility can be taken for entries where contact details have been provided incorrectly and there is no other possible method of contact with the winner.
- There are no cash alternatives in whole or in part to the stated prize and, unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Promoter, the prizes will only be awarded directly to the winners.
- The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with something of equal or greater value in the event of unavailability due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control.
- Winners may be asked to take part in publicity in the form of photographs or interviews with local media/Everyone Active personnel.
- If required by a regulatory authority, and/or if we consider it lawful, necessary or appropriate to do so, we may elect to make available a list of winner’s parent’s/guardian’s surname and/or county to members of the public or regulators who request such details within 3 months of the closing date of this Promotion. Entrants can object to disclosure, or request that disclosure be limited in scope. We may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so. You may request a copy of the winners list by emailing [email protected]. We reserve the right to refuse any or all such requests.
- The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion and for no other purpose unless we have your consent. We may share your personal data with our partners Broccoli Marketing (https://www.broccolimarketing.com/privacy-policy/) to help us run the promotion and provide prizes. Your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with current data protection legislation. Click here for the Promoter’s Privacy Policy. You can request access to your personal data, or have any inaccuracies rectified, by sending an email to [email protected]. Data will be stored for 3 months after the close of the promotion before deletion, except for winners whose data will be deleted upon collection and acceptance of the prize. By participating in the Promotion, you agree to the use of your personal data as described here.
- The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this promotion or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.
- Any question concerning the legal interpretation of these terms and conditions will be based on English law and the Courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless you live in another part of the UK, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.
