Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre shortlisted in 2023 ukactive Awards

Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre is in the running for a prestigious national honour after being selected as a finalist in the ukactive Awards.

The centre, run by leading operator Everyone Active on behalf of Havering Council, has been shortlisted in the ‘Regional Club/Centre of the Year – South’ category.

Should the team be successful in the regional section, they will also be considered for the ‘National Club/Centre of the Year’ award.

The ukactive Awards celebrate the best of the physical activity sector and are designed to recognise excellence and innovation across health, wellbeing and fitness in the UK.

Finalists will now go through to the next stage of the judging process where they will undergo further assessments including a mystery shop and digital review.

The regional winners and national champion will be announced at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Thursday, October 26.

Tom Fletcher, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: “It’s an honour to be shortlisted for the ukactive Awards and this reflects the hard work and dedication the team has put in over the past year.

“To be selected as a finalist is an achievement in itself and we’d like to thank all of our members for their ongoing support.”

The Deputy Leader of Havering Council, Councillor Gillian Ford, said:

“Being shortlisted for a national award is great news and reflects the tremendous effort by Everyone Active in ensuring our leisure centres continue to be an asset to the local community.

“We are proud in Havering, that unlike many other councils, we’ve been able to continue to invest in our leisure facilities, which are very important to our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.”
