Everyone Active’s Quiet Adult Swimming Sessions

Here at Everyone Active, it’s part of our mission to make sure we provide activities that are welcoming for the whole community. That includes providing opportunities to get active for those who may not enjoy loud noises as part of their exercise routine. That’s why at certain centres, we have begun to introduce ‘quiet’ sessions, including quiet gym sessions and Quiet Adult Swimming Sessions.

What are Quiet Adult Swimming Sessions?

They are swim sessions that have been designed specifically to be a little quieter than the standard adult swimming lessons and don’t include lanes. This means they encourage free swimming and enjoyment of the water, rather than regimented lane swimming sessions. It’s still, however, a fantastic way to get active.

What are the benefits of Quiet Adult Swimming Sessions?

You get all the same mental and physical benefits as you would from a standard adult swimming session. This means a great whole-body, low impact workout, helping to boost strength and cardio fitness at the same time, as well as helping to boost your mental health.

As well as all this, however, the calmer, quieter environment of these sessions helps reduce the chances of over-stimulation for people living with neurodivergence, Parkinson’s disease and dementia. This, in turn, will help them to get the most out of the session.

Who are Quiet Adult Swimming Sessions for?

Everyone is welcome at our Quiet Adult Swimming Sessions, but they have specifically designed with certain groups of people in mind. The quieter, calmer atmosphere, can be of benefit to people living with Parkinson’s disease or Dementia, neurodivergence as well as those suffering with mental health issues.

Where can you take part?

Quiet Adult Swimming Sessions are currently only available at a certain number of centres, but this is growing all the time. Currently, this session is available here:
