Everyone Active’s Outdoor Swimming Pools

As well as more than 120 indoor pools, Everyone Active also operates a number of outdoor swimming pools and lidos. These are perfect for fun family days out during the school holidays, making the most of the best that the British weather has to offer and, especially this year, could be the closest thing we get to going abroad for a while.

We have six outdoor swimming pool facilities operating currently, located all over the country, each of which offers something slightly different. Some are outdoor pools attached to larger leisure centres which also feature indoor pools. Others, meanwhile, are standalone outdoor swimming pools and lidos, some of which are located right next to the sea, for that authentic seaside, holiday feel.

Our outdoor swimming pools are open between May and September each year.

Everyone Active’s Outdoor Swimming Pools

Our outdoor swimming pools and lidos offer something for everyone and are perfect for the whole family. While our indoor pools are more famed for swimming lessons and lane swimming sessions, as well as fun swimming, the outdoor pools also are almost completely focused on ensuring you and your family have as much fun in the water as possible.

Tinside Lido

Frequently voted one of Europe’s top 10 outdoor swimming pools, Tinside Lido overlooks Plymouth harbour, giving stunning views out to sea. Built in 1935, it’s a stunning example of art-deco architecture and is Grade II listed. The pool is salt water, so you really feel like you’re in the sea and you don’t get that chlorine effect that you do in other pools; it really does feel like you’re on holiday! That effect is amplified by the sundeck, which is considered by many in Plymouth to be one of the best places in the local are to come and soak up the rays. Don’t forget the sun cream!

Stratford Park Leisure Centre

Stratford Park Leisure Centre features a superb outdoor swimming pool. It’s the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy during the summer months; especially during the school holidays. Kids can splash around in the pool, while parents soak up the rays (as long as the weather behaves) around the edge. What better way to while away those long spring and summer days?

Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre

Hemel Hempstead boasts two wonderful outdoor swimming pools. There’s the 25m main pool where kids and the whole family can play games and swim around enjoying themselves, while there’s also the kid’s paddling pool, which features fountains for children to play in. If this all gets a little too exhausting, you can always relax round the edge of the pool too. Just don’t forget the shades and the sun cream!

Abbey Fields Swimming Pool

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Abbey Fields Park in Kenilworth, the outdoor swimming pool at Abbey Fields Leisure Centre is a wonderful spot for a family day out. The whole family can enjoy the water, splashing around and playing games, while you’ve got all the fun of the park right there with you as well.

Mount Wise Swimming Pools

Mount Wise boasts four superb outdoor swimming pools, making it ideal for everybody. There’s a 25m main pool to swim in, a fun pool with stepping stones and fountains, a whirlpool and a bubble pool. Located right next to the water at the mouth of the River Tamar in Plymouth, you get stunning views out across the sea to complement the fantastic fun you’re having in the water. Mount Wise is consistently voted one of the best outdoor swimming complexes in the country!

Hood Park Leisure Centre

There are two outdoor swimming pools at Hood Park – a 25m main pool and a smaller pool for younger children to get more confident in the water. They’re both fantastic fun, however, and provide fantastic fun for the whole family. Whether you want to swim, have fun the water or lounge by the pool, Hood Park is perfect for you!
