The idea of doing even more home schooling might not be very appealing right now. With all the pools currently closed, however, there’s not a lot more you can do to help your child continue to learn about the water.

Home Schooling Worksheets

With that in mind, we’ve teamed up with Swim England to bring you almost 30 home schooling worksheets. They cover a range of aquatic subjects, including water safety, swimming terms and spotting poolside dangers. While they won’t replace being in the pool, they do allow your children to continue learning about the water and how to stay safe in and around it.

Alongside helping your children to learn about aquatic themes, simply by completing the home schooling worksheets, they’re working on their literacy and numeracy. Furthermore, they can also be used to make lessons more fun.

Katie Towner, Swim England Head of Learn to Swim, said: “With pools closed across the country, we wanted to be supportive to everyone who will be missing swimming lessons and give them an opportunity to continue to learn about water safety and strokes despite not being in the water.

“Our activity sheets will keep children creative by thinking up stories, problem-solving, completing crosswords and giving them things to do in the garden or while out on a walk.

“They are aimed at youngsters up to the age of 11 and can be completed independently or supported by an adult or older sibling.

Swim England Wants your Feedback

“We’d love to hear what you think of the activity sheets and if there are any topics that you would like to see covered.”

As well as worksheets, there are also answer sheets to go along with them. You can download and print the home schooling worksheets from the Swim England website. We hope you enjoy and we can’t wait to see you in the pool when we can open them again!
