Vivary Golf & Adventure Centre – High Ropes Terms & Conditions

Participating in adventurous activities will always have associated risks of personal injury. We make every effort to minimise this risk – our systems are extremely safe, regularly checked and our instructors are trained to a high standard. However, there are inherent risks of bruising, sprains, cuts and more serious injury cannot be ruled out and participants taking part in these activities should be aware of the risks and be responsible for their own actions.

Supervision

For all sessions we will need a signed consent form for each participant. If the participant is under 18, then this must be completed by the parent or guardian or a responsible adult who has the parents’ or guardians’ permission for the under 18s in their care to access the activities. If the participants are under 14, then a responsible adult must stay onsite during the participant’s activities.

Medical

You must inform us of any specific needs prior to your experience, particularly any medical conditions which may affect your ability to complete the challenges. These must me recorded on a consent form prior to participation.

Challenge by Choice

The principle of ‘Challenge by Choice’ is always operated at The Vivary Centre across the full range of delivery. This is to ensure that inappropriate pressure or persuasion is not placed on a group or any individuals during any part of any activity. This culture ensures that individuals enjoy activities in a supportive and non-competitive environment.

Slot Times

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of your session to allow time to get your wrist bands from reception. If you do not arrive on time for your session, you will have to wait until the next available slot.

Age and weight limits

  • The minimum age for this facility is 5 years
  • The minimum age for lone participation on the High Elements is 8 years old
  • Under 8s can take part in the Higher Elements only if accompanied by an adult at a ratio of 1 to 1.
  • Maximum weight limit for the High Course and Power Fan is 19-stone (120kg).

Appropriate attire

  • Participants must be dressed appropriately and it shall be the responsibility of all participants to ensure that they are dressed suitably as follows:
  • Jewellery- All jewellery except for small ear studs should be removed before participating in any roped activities. If you are unable to remove a ring then our instructors will inform you of the potential risks of wearing rings and you will be asked if you accept these risks.
  • Wear appropriate footwear – Must be closed toed and covering the instep, laced or Velcro (we cannot except: flip flops, crocs, sandals, slip on shoes, wellies, Ugg boots etc.)
  • Wear appropriate clothing – No skirts/dresses. Shorts must be long enough to prevent harness rub. Tops should cover the shoulders.
  • Tie up long hair in a low pony tail so that it does not interfere with the helmet.
  • Empty all pockets prior to kit up
  • The Vivary Centre reserves the right to refuse admittance to any participant who is not appropriately dressed.

Cancellations

If you wish to cancel or re-arrange your booking then this must be done with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice of your session’s start time or you will be charged at the agreed rate of the session.

Postponement and Changes in the Event

While every effort is made by The Vivary Centre to carry out the activity in accordance with the booking, The Vivary Centre retains the right to postpone or change the booking or nature of the activity if this is necessary due to circumstances beyond its control including but not limited to adverse weather conditions or unavailability of suitable staff or equipment. In such circumstances The Vivary Centre will notify the party booker as soon as possible of such changes and suitable arrangements will be made. The Activities will remain open in most weather conditions (but not in circumstances of gales, lightning, heavy ice or snow at the discretion of the Lead Instructor).

Accidents & Loss or damage of personal effects

In the unlikely event of an accident, or loss or damage to personal effects, The Vivary Centre will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage or injury arising from or in connection with the activity, except in instances of personal injury directly caused by the Company’s negligence.

The Vivary Centres authority and participant responsibility at the Event

  • The group booker agrees on its own behalf and on behalf of each and every party member that the opinion of The Vivary Centre staff is final.
  • To comply with any request or order made by The Vivary Centre staff in the interests of safety howsoever expressed.
  • To comply with any reasonable instruction given by The Vivary Centre staff for any other reason.
  • The Vivary Centre reserves the right to request any party member to leave or be removed/rescued if in the opinion of The Vivary Centre staff the party member is behaving in a dangerous, unreasonable or disruptive manner and the party booker agrees to procure that such request will be complied with by each and every party member. In such circumstances The Vivary Centre will be under no liability to the group booker or the party member in respect of any refund of the booking or compensation for any costs or damage which may be incurred by the party booker or the party member.

More useful information

The length of your adventure will vary – it will last from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours – it depends on which activities you have chosen, how busy we are and how confident you are. Please note that refunds will not be provided after kit-up and brief.

Please read and obey all signage in the area – signs are there for the safety and protection of everyone. You may be asked to wait during busy times. Please be patient as we have to ensure 100% safety at all times.
